Welcome to APBC


The Andhra Pradesh Bishops' Council (APBC) takes its origin from the “Regional Episcopal Council of Andhra Pradesh” which was set up on October 16, 1954 at the Archbishop's House, Secunderabad, by Archbishop Mark Gopu, the first Metropolitan Archbishop of Hyderabad, with the objective of strengthening and developing the local Church in Andhra Pradesh. It was later also known as the “Andhra Pradesh Regional Bishops' Council”.

Programmes to Demand SC Status
The struggle to get SC Status for the Dalit Christians and Muslims continues. At this crucial moment, the following two important events will be organized in the month of March in Delhi: 

National Seminar on 6-7 March, 2010
For mobilizing positive public opinion concerned with the extension of Scheduled Castes privileges to Convert Christian, Muslim Members of SC origin, CBCI’s Commission for Scheduled Castes and National Council of Churches in India (NCCI) will conduct a seminar on 06- 03- 2010 and 07- 03- 2010 at Constitution Club, Delhi.
